MAKING MEMORIES – SOME OF THE GREATEST GIFTS OF THE SEASON

treeChristmas brings an incredible amount of blessings to our campus. Some come wrapped in paper or taken from the daily needs list. Others are found in gift cards used throughout the year. One of the greatest blessings comes as individuals and groups come to campus or host our children at their locations for events during the season. The gift of these people are not lost among the tremendous amount of charity experienced by MHCO this time of year, as memories made stay with our children throughout Christmas and the rest of their lives.

abatementA winter wonderland awaits as our friends at Abatement Restoration of Raleigh host the entire campus at their offices each Christmas. Decorated in lights and holiday displays, with video games (yes real ones like Ms. Pac Man!), Pinball, inflatables, and a mini-golf course and with booths for pictures, karaoke, bull riding, and face painting it truly is a place of fun and memories for our kids. Top it off with an endless buffet of food from local businesses in Raleigh and the children of our Home truly have the gift of a good time to remember this Christmas, thanks to Abatement Restoration, Chris Mitscherlich, President, and his staff and their families.

Visits to our campus include a Christmas Brunch, courtesy of the North Carolina Nurses Association, a tree trimming party thanks to BMI Insurance/Rodan and Fields and Robyn and Bill Boyd, and this year, Macy’s Christmas Parade participants and long-time MHCO supporters, the Holly Springs Dance Company.

dinnerThe highlight of our Christmas season at MHCO comes as over 400 friends, donors, staff, alumni, and families gather for the annual MHCO Christmas Dinner and Gift Party. Along with the Home’s Christmas Dinner comes the individual giving of several different friends, businesses, civic organizations, and individuals and their families. Taking the wishes of one cottagewendy these incredible supporters present presents following the meal and share in a night of joy, amazement, and memorable moments. Many have participated in this event from its inception and all define an incredible devotion to the power of helping a child at Christmas. We acknowledge these incredible groups and their organizers listed below for not only generous gifts, but the gift of their belief in our Home and in helping a child in our care for another Christmas.
